Which Digi Cam to Buy....need help ???

Hi Frenz,

Planning on buying a digital cam....have had a look at the Canon powershot series and the Sony Cybershot series.

Which Camera according to you guys is the best that I can get in India if I am ready to shell out 15K ....possibly strtching it to around 20K.....
Preferably 7-8Mp and good optical zoom.

Could you guys list out a few cams and why u think that I should be gettin it...

Huh ? You will find only one camera model recommended - The Canon S3 IS. If you want more mega pixels go for the Canon S5 IS.
 
Check JJMehta.com or canon.co.in. They have prices given there. JJMehta.com gives 2 years standard canon warranty I think.

For Sony ones models with similar capabilities to the
Canon S3 IS is Sony DSC H5
Canon S5 IS is Sony DSC H7

You might want to read up reviews on each of those on Digital Camera Reviews and News: Digital Photography Review: Forums, Glossary, FAQ

Such do a google search for the term: 'dpreview (Camera name)', and you should get pretty much everything you need to know about these cameras.

Also, for local prices, jjmehta .com , India 's Premier Photography Website - Digital Camera , Digital SLR Camera , Video Camera , Apple iPod , mobiblu Online is a good place to start, if you live in Mumbai, as wisely pointed out by 'cool_dude'.

Take your time in making the decision and asking more people. Do your research :)
