I have been using RK launcher but its no more in development & does not work on windows 7 x64 (tried many builds)

I need a lightweight dock application which is not heavy on system resources & it should be able to open an application & show original icon if I drag a shortcut icon to the dock.

I am trying Winstep Nexus Dock but its missing some features & is not so smooth in its usage.

Which dock application launcher do you use on windows 7?

Use Rocketdock.
I have been using it for the last 5 years without any issues.

Object dock is good but it uses more memory and proccy power. And its not free.

It works in everything and with everything with very small memory footprint. :P

Rocketdock is the best and is highly customizable according to ur needs and it has also got a site dedicated to it where you can get icons, themes and custom scripts for it.

rocketdock

* Please note that Windows XP x64 Edition, Windows Vista 64-bit Editions, and alternate shells are not yet supported.

So I cant use it on win x64,

objectdock I tried but is resource hogging.

ObjectDock Free: Very stable, biggest gallery of skins and docklets/widgets.

ObjectDock Plus: Use it if you like tabs and multiple docks on your desktop, but you have to pay for it.

RocketDock: I think it is the best because it supports all the other dock's skins and docklets.

YzDock.... yeah I know it's too old and blah blah and blah. But it's working great, good memory footprint and it just works. So why bother?? :)

Although, I'm not using it on Win7. The default taskbar is serving me great... although sans the typical dock effects.

Well, i have used it on Vista x64 and now am using on Windows 7 x64 without any issues et all. :cool2:
I'll post a screenie sometime in the evening. :)

^^^yes... their site says so, bt, ive been using it for past 6 months. apart from a few glitches occasionally, its the BEST! oh...my OS is vista ultimate 64 bit. ;)

Oh so it seems that notice on their site is rather quite old, good if it works I will try later.

as of now I am able to configure nexus dock to somewhat as per my liking but it uses 20mb memory on ideal & on usage the CPU spikes to 30-40%.

I am on Win 7 64 bit, it works just fine

had occasional crashes of objectdock

might be as i dont have a dedicated graphics card but onboard

dont know , graphics driver used to restart

rocket docks fine
