Singapore is sooo good, you just wanna take pics of it all the time :P

sooo me decided i'll get a DSLR :ohyeah:

Went to mustafa, saw the EOS1000D with 8GB card free and kit lens blah for 1030$ and EOS450D with a battery and 4/8GB card for 1200$. which is a better deal and 450D worth extra monies?

Does anyone know where to get DSLRs in singapore? :ashamed:
 
Go to slim lim square they have camera's there too and you can bargain like hell! Becareful not all the camera's you buy there come with warranty and some of the shops arent so friendly to Indian's :P
 
450D anyday over 1000D, its among the mid - level DLSRs, 1000D is considered entry level, and a lot of features are being cut off to save cost.

me neither :rofl: but new office is cool, can take camera and still no one will say anythign :P

actually I wanted to get a EOS350D used oen in s'pore...but cant find one anywhere, plus i'm getting really itchy to buy one :P :D
 
or dont buy the kit lens, strike a deal for the camera +50mm 1.8 and get telephoto. i have the kit lens, man its slow in low light and i find it limiting as well.

I'd been to MediaMarkt here, have held both 1000D and 450D in my hands.
From my experience, the 1000D has a terrile grip! (better to say no grip at all)
I could not hold it for more than 5 mins, hands started paining.
Grip of 450D is much better, not the best though.

And then i decided, will go for 450D. So before you buy, make sure you
hold both the DSLRs in ur hands and try the grip.

So 450D anyday...
 
That 550$ deal for 400D is not bad. However don't get the 17-85 IS. There are better lenses out there. Not worth the money.

The grip on the 1000D is same as the 350D. Its not *that* terrible :P.
 
sunny : just 3k more for a 450D is a no brainer.

I assume the price you have quoted is SGD.

Here on jjmehta it retails between 44k to 56k with different combinations of filter / lens/es / cf cards.

so that deal at 40.5k seems to be quite good.
 
well EOS 1000d is available for 25k localy in grey market with kit lens.i,e 18-55mm IS lens.while EOS 450D is available for 32.5k~ with kit lens in grey market.
