LOL come on. Nearly everybody has unlimited net access these days.

sadly, i doubt that. even tho i have unlimited it is at a snail's pace of 256kbps - just upgraded to 512k today :)

@painkiller: for copy-protected dvds try using dvd decryptor to remove the encryption and it copies the dvd files to HDD where you can point fairuse (i used AutGK) to these files... AutoGK only has xvid and divx options no x264 tho.

LOL. Yeah. I wish we have 2 Mbps Unlimited in India.

I have TATA 256 Kbps Unlimited & I get 25 - 30 Kbps always. :)

I have ordered a BSNL 900 UL Plan. Lets see when it finally arrives at my home. :P

i have bsnl broadband was on home UL 900 (256kbps) price which got "cut" to UL 750 due to new plans :) just got upgraded today to 512kbps Home UL 1350.

@painkiller... slightly round abt method.. none the less, i follow it :)

1. i use dvdfab hd decrypter to decrypt copy protected dvds..

2. use nero to create iso image of the dvd files.

3. use the new decrypted dvd iso as input for fairuse.

:D

Been using Fairuse for god knows how many years now , its one of the most user friendly app for dvd ripping.

Also Nero Recode 2 [Included with Nero] is a gr8 app if u want to rip dvd's to Nero Digital[AVC H.264] .mp4 and want to compress them to a smaller size maintaining quality.

Aahh. Almost forgot about Nero Recode 2. It's definately a good app. But, unlike DivX/Xvid, the MP4 files do not play in my LG DivX/DVD player (Despite it having the MP4 logo) :(

I mostly convert DivX/Xvid files to DVD and play the DVDs. I love the resume feature and the Subtitles :P

It will never play .mp4 files encoded using nero recode as the video codec used by nero is H.264 AVC which is not supported by ur dvd player.

Ur DVD player supports only divx and xvid which are also mpeg 4 compressions thats why the mpeg 4 mentioned on ur dvd player.

That's what I thought but, why are there two logos then?

One is the Usual DivX and the other is MP4

mp4 might be for mp4 container format with divx and xvid as video codec.

Divx + Mp3 in .AVI [Divx Logo]

Xvid + Mp3 in .AVI [Mpeg 4]

Divx / Xvid + Mp3 in .Mp4 [Mpeg 4]

Or following video codecs with AAC Audio Codec support.
