Storage Solutions Which dvd rw should i buy?

Hi... I want to buy a dvd rw drive... my choices are sony lite-on or lg... benq is not available with my dealer... so which one should i buy... and if possible mention the approx price as well... thnx.
 
Hmm since the thread is aldready started, LG is the best buy right now correct, or should I buy a Benq 1650, or 1640 whichever is available ?

I did not burn dvds at all!

Hmm... now thats bad news ive always heard lg was very durable... how does sony compare to lg neway is sony really that bad? and is there any quality or performance diff between box packed and oem dvd rws?

Get the LG if you're constrained.. quite decent as well. Sony drives are now made by NEC-Optiarc (the AWG170), and older ones, like the G120 etc. are Lite-On OEMs.

The newer Benqs, ,1680 and 1800 are Lite-On OEMs as well.
 
btw im getting a black sony 16x DVD writter (box packed ) for 2250 is that a nice deal ??

i was wondering since the new sony drives are manufacutred by NEC ..then isnt that better than most of the drives wee see in the market??
 
LG over Sony, yeah.
Which Sony drive? The newer ones are definitely good.. the aWG170A is 1700 in Pune though.. the one from the Sony-NEC Optiarc JV. 2250 = too expensive.
 
k thnx for the info ...then i might consider going for LG. I remember u posting the Model no. that 1 should look for while buyin those LG drives but i cant find the thread can u plz tell that to us again ?
