At last i give up on my stupid sony DVD-RW which is acting too weird lately .....

want to buy a new DVD-RW ..... which one do u guys suggest ??
drive sud be reliable and need good quality burns ....... have to backup lots of data .....

^ What good is a new technology laser, when the tray won't come out or go in easily? I've had tray problems with two Samsung optical drives. Now I specifically exclude it from my shopping list. Once bitten, twice shy!

Bullshit, stay away from Samsung optical drives, and shit head drives like Sony which use a Samsung firmware.

Normally I dont care a lot about the write quality, but the shitty Sony drive I have has the worst read capacity ever, even my dvd player which is normally very picky abt the media will play discs, but my drive will hang while trying to read it. Lol I bought Sony because my CD writer yet works like a charm, and then they come up with this shit.

Hey, the BenQ 1655 is available here for 2k in Vapi. The guy has only 2 pcs. left. That price is an overkill, so I opted for the ASUS DRW 1814BL for 1.65k.
Tell me if you need the 1655, but be warned, I don't think its worth that much premium, especially since other good drives like Lite-on LH-20A1P are available for arnd 1500 or so...
