Get L&T Oris switches. And again L&T for the wires. Period.
Their quality in both fields is way better than the competition. They are cost effective too, when you consider the whole layout.
Eg:
Their switch rated at 10A is much cheaper than competition 10A while being double the quality. Everything with a 12year guarantee. Their universal sockets (which accomodates british/american, etc all standards) is rated at 13A, ideal for computer systems and devices.
Moreover they have options of LED switches (Power-indicator and night locator) rather than the convention neon lamps.
They have a 32A DP switch for Air-conditioners which fits into the conventional modular plate.
Their conventional 6A / 13A / 16A sockets are broader than regular sockets of other brands. (3-module sockets as compared to others' 2-module). This improves the support to the usually broad PC plug-tops, and improves the rear too.
The reasons go on and on... So do have a look. (Less people keep the switch because list price is lower than competitors mosaic, schneider, etc. and hence margins for dealers are lower. Moreover, everyone cannot simply be a dealer of L&T. Reputed firms only.)
PS: L&T beats its closest competitor Legrand Mosaic hugely, while others like Crabtree (Now havells i guess), finolex switches, Anchor Roma are'nt in the same league.
Pick up a Legrand mosaic catalogue, it shows a fine print at the end: Warranty is halved if not fitted in Legrand metal boxes, warranty only 2 years for the neon-lit switches, etc. Hardly any warranty on fan-regulator.
