Hi guys I was intending to Buy External HDD for My desktop and laptop though the latter is Not that important.

So was looking at the 3.5 HDD i have a budget of around 5k to 5.3K And looking for Size Anything Equal to 500GB or More.

I was Looking For Western Digital Somedays ago 640Gb don't know which Model was it.
I can Go for Seagate aswell but i heard there have been problems off late.

So can anybody suggest me a Good External HDD with Good Speed And Reliability.

Both the Seagate and WD external HDD's(3.5") with external power costs 5-5.5k approx. But i would suggest you to go for 2.5" HDD's. They are very compact. Go for a 500GB WD passport for 5.3k approx.

Check these 2 WD My Book models available as Recertified products at Newegg. U can order them through KMD and since he is offering 10% discount, u'll get even lower price for them. :hap2:

On the other hand, if budget is not a constraint for you then you can check various other models available locally.

Here are few available at Lynx India

Seagate Free Agent Desk 1TB ? Lynx-The Electronics & Computer Superstore

WD 1TB Hard Drive ? Lynx-The Electronics & Computer Superstore

Remember, these are Bookshelf type external hard disk. U can lug 'em around but their weight's gonna prove to be a P.I.T.A whereas in 2.5" section u will be constricted by ur budget and capacity as 500GB or more 2.5" drives are still expensive and u can't torture 'em like these My Book type external drives.
