Ok...the prob is ..frnd needs a gfx card which will be able to run nfs u2??
simple aint it??
but he also needs to see the visual effects mainly the nitrous effect or booster....whtever u wanna call it :hap2:
So which card can giv him happiness....at minimum cost
will a 5200 b fine....also major diff between 9600 nd 9600se is the later being 64 bit rite??
ny solutions r welcome..

Well the cheapest happiness will be 5200. It will do for effects on UG.
Not only NOS but also crowd, headlight, taillight.
There are other modes of cheaper happiness though..... ;)

ne on a safer side and get a 9600 NP, is not that costly i think right now, 4-5 k?
u'll be able get all that happiness and a bit more, that is good fps and stuff ;)

thts wht i wanna know...i want to b sure,,cmon guys some1 must b having these cards nd must hav played it??...
Also by non-pro u mean the normal 9600 rite....wht bout the 9600se.

9600np has 128bit memory while the 9600se has 64bit only. So i guess i wont take a genius to figure out wots better ;)

Nix the 5200.My 5600 (256 MB) is crappy with uG 2.I'm upgrading 2 6600 GT. dunno bout Ati though.

K thank u Ren, Rave , Blade.....but i didnt get wht naga meant????
i guess i will tel him to go for 9600np...nd it only comes in 1 version rite?

nd i thought the fx series were dx9 cards?....werent they.

9600np is the best damn budget card there is in the market i think its available for 5-6k in the market i currently have the club3d 9600 its awesome i played hl2 with all settings at high 4xaa and was getting 35-50 fps smooth as butter. although doom3 with all high im getting playable framerates liek 30-40fps, with my current rig ie amd 1700+ and 512ram its truly amazing :P

Thats awesome, considering I play most of the games at 640*480 with a 9800 pro, Damn the stuttering and load times :no: :no:

I was able to run NFS:UG at 800x600 with all eye candy turned to max on my 9600. I guess a 9600NP should be good enough for your friend.

I think that 9600 np will be able to play it in medium at 1027x768.Even the 9800 pro runs between 30-40 fps in ug 2 with all in gmae settings maximized.Considering that the 9800 pro is twice as fast as the 9600,I dont see the 9600 being very playable.
UG 2 is a lot more system heavy than ug1 mind u.
A 6600gt is the best choice though,being playable upto 1280x1024 with all aa/filtering enabled.

k thank vignesh......
@Satan......dude why arent u using the 9800pro...also u told me u sold ur 9600??

@Ace
tht cud b bcuz of ram....me too played doom3 at 1024 x 768 high quality wit 9800pro with 768 ram.....card now wit satan

whts the diff betwn 9600 nd 9600np

but it costs almost double, so u really cant compare the two, if u look at it that way, then a 6800 GT wud play easily at 1600x1200 with ease ;) (which is twice as costly as a 6600 gt)

9600 and 9600 NP (non pro) both are the same cards, technically, there is no such card as a 9600 Non Pro, its just the way of describing a plain 9600, so that ppl dont end up with a 9600 SE (the 64 bit version)

Hmm...by all tht he wants i dont think he can afford a 6600gt or 6800......plz guys just wanna knw wht card will show the NOS effect....

well, if its only and only UG2 that matters, then a 5200 wud do, but if he can increase his budget and go for a 9600 non pro, that is the best bet :)
