Namaste!

I got some1 coming down from the US :hap2: by 25th Aug. Can i please have suggestions on which one to buy. I got to know that on TE more often than not Newegg.com is quoted!

Well, i surfed the site and come down to this gigabyte 7600gt card with Silent pipe II. (suggestions plz?)
GIGABYTE Geforce 7600GT GV-NX76T256D-RH Silent Pipe II, Lead Free Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com

I don't want to go above 10k since i want to conserve for the DX-10 series. and also, i got a lcd monitor (CMV-17", 8ms). The highest resolution i tried was 1600*900 but for me, i would normally be playing on 1024*768.

Please, i am open to suggestions for next 3 days, than i have to decide and tell...My rig HELL'S ATRIUM details with photos

^^ That Gigabyte works out to 8.5k including shipping.

Gimme some time, I'm trying to arrange something locally itself with a sweet price :D

And evga cards are always OC :)
And the winner is ? you decide....
I would go for evga anythime!!!
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1800GTO2 100153L Video Card is also very good but will be 12k...

Thanks guys,
"Sirusness" i checked out ur evga link, the site recommends 450 watts of power for the 7800gt card and i have a (antec true power) 380 watt supply. Will it still work? ... otherwise i'll go ahead with the 7600gt(gigabyte) only... And "Rave" the Saphire radeon is not really out of my budget but, as i said i'd like to spend on the DX10 card... so this is just for a period of maybe 1 year! ...

Requirements
For 7800GT (EVGA) Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amp Amps.)

^^I would love to see Chaos recommend anything but ATi,but remember that thing is a X1800XT and will eat power like anything so a 380W is out of the question a 500W is the minimum.Better get a 7900GT going for almost the same price as the X1800XT(aka GTO2) and performs better.Plus the stock cooler spins up and down in a most irritating fashion on that card and if set to a low default, it overheats quickly.

Chaos
That GTO2 is easily the best deal around the place right now.
But will it work with the current hardware i have? No PSU issues?... and if i go for it, this will be the first time i buy a ATI card! :) That's the only mental block, nothing else!! ... Its like i know how Geforce categories are placed, i have seen them grow. But when u quote a ATI model i am lost!! i dunno what to compare it too!! (e.g. X1800GTO2 is comparable to a 7900gt?!)

Thanks Switch, Nice card, nice price ... 450-Watt power supply or greater recommended (assumes fully loaded system) is being recommended for this one too? ...what to do...

Get a 7900GT, I have owned both and trust me the 7900GT is better.A 7900GT is better than a 7800GTX and almost equal to a 7800 GTX 512 given that most reach 550mhz anyway. With MIRs they are less than 250 bucks right now.

Duh... I just recommended a 7950GX2 an hour back at work cos all its gonna be used is for drawing opengl wireframes :p. Nothing beats NVIDIA in that. For gaming... its ATI all the way.

I need to upgrade my PSU (currently 380 watts antec true power) ... what r the suggestions?? Keeping in mind a DX 10 card too!

Congrats man, and PSU depends on the budget, Neo HE 500 would do ;)

I feel that the TP380W will handle that card.

Your just counting volts, but that PSU has a pretty strong 25+ something Amps on the 12v rails.

@ Parag - Install the card first and check it out, then decide on the PSU upgrade. You'll also need a PCIe power connector.

If you want help on the new PSU, just gimme a call ;)
