What exactly needs to be done for getting this email confirmation ?

Distributors are not obliged to, This is completely at their discretion, Corsair and Gigabyte service centers dont bother with checking purchase details. Gigabyte (Chandigarh) replaced my frens mobo (Newegg-KMD) without asking any questions last year, No bill nothing. AFAIK Sapphire does provide RMA for charges (two-way shipping to their office in HongKong), for card purchase outside India.

Shripad had a word with Gigabyte and Accel Frontline, the Gigabyte warranty will be honoured locally as well after you get the email confirmation from Gigabyte support.

Based on reviews and specs I would recommend the Gigabyte or the MSI. Definitely the 1 GB versions. There is nothing much in the factory overclocking. These cards are said to reach the 800 mark easily. I would look for the best cooling solution and get it. Palit has been getting horror reviews all over for their cooling or lack thereof.

However - warning - the Gigabyte GTX 460 that I got does not seem to like my old ASUS P5 NE board. I am still in the process of troubleshooting. Lets see how it goes. All the best for your purchase.
where did you get the Gigabyte GTX460 from ? it doesn't seem to be available here in India :(

I guess you must have got tired of RMA ing it multiple times.

Seriously there isn't any Quality control here.

if i remember, it was either harshal or shripad who had replaced gigabyte card bought in us with help of gigabyte india. not sure who it was :P

but im pretty sure they did.

there was a topic regarding which all brands provide international warranty where it was mentioned.

as for the topic.

i would suggest against the palit if it is not priced much lower than the rest. i simply have lost faith in the quality control.

there was an article regarding their quality control standards based in canada which is a little lighter on standard, the thing was mentioned in an article regarding why ATi discontinued Palit as their Channel Partner..which was regarding violation of modification to 4850 memory beyond allowed specs (the 4850 DDR5 version). ATi did come up with an option to counter that officially later though, the not so famous 4860.

so long story short, check the reviews of the concerned palit product before you purchase the same.

Please take names only if verysure and please provide any suitable links to support your claims. :)

Else one risks spreading around FUD as the truth.

While some may have been lucky enough to get their products rmaed, it's neither officially accepted nor a guarantee it will be done in the future.

^^ Got it, atleast officially its not supported.

And for valid reasons imho- As it may promote parallel imports.
