Hi,
I'm planning on buying a new headphone.I believe the type of headphones I'm looking for is called 'circum aural'(ie: I want the headphones cups to be bigger than my ear) .My budget is 4k.
My usage would be mainly for gaming(non competitive) and movies. With a quick google search I have shortlisted Sennheiser HD 429 Headphone and Audio Technica ATH-M35 Headphone .
What do you guys think..? Any suggestions?

Cheers,

since you have shortlisted Sennheiser HD 429 and Audio Technica ATH-M35
ATH-M35 is better then HD-429.

better you should go to shop & check out by yourself before restricting yourself to google search.
Ask people who owns those, ask friends and so on.
few other to check out are in that range are :-
  • Grado SR60i
  • JVC HA-RX700
  • Sony MDR-V6

I doubt most of these would be available locally here(in Trivandrum). Hence restricting myself to google , as I would be getting it online. Which of those you mentioned would you recommend over the others..?Basically I've been using a really old low end headphones(microsoft livechat 1000) , so any of those would be an improvement I guess.I am also in a bit of hurry since the current one has started malfunctioning.[DOUBLEPOST=1365993590][/DOUBLEPOST]Any other suggestions? The mentioned ones don't seem to be easily available online?

Apart from JVC HARX700, everything else seems out of my budget.Between JVC HARX700and Audio Technica ATH-M35 which would be recommended...?

proaudiohome/pristinenote.. they don't keep grado anymore
i called them while i was also planning to buy some grado
then i ended up buying AD500 few months back
if you are open to buying used headphones.. i saw a post in FOR SALE section for grado SR80i
they are improvement over sr60i .. and being a used one i think they'll fit in your budget
