Hi
Which online shopping site do you think is a decent option, among ebay.in, Indiatimes shopping, sify, rediff etc. ?
In ebay.in, i have seen sellers charge exhorbitent amounts for delivery charges. That way they make up for the discount (if any) they claim to give. Imagine a 99Rs. T-shirt with Rs. 250 delivery charges!

Anyone with good experience with some site?

I only shop in ebay. If I don't get a good deal on ebay.in, I go over to ebay.com, and there I almost always find a seller shipping to India with a total cost less than the deal I found on ebay.in

Paypal is the best way to shop on Ebay.com. If you have a cc you can add it to your pp account and money will be deducted using your cc.

Thanks for the reply Amaresh

1. I registered a Paypal account recently, it now asks me to Fax them my address proof. It shows my account as unverified. What does that mean?

2. Can i transfer money to Paypal account using online transfer (internet banking) ? Coz i dont have a credit card.

ebay.in is crapholistic tho i have added my DS karts there for a good price :D

ebay.com and amazon give great prices

I think Paypal only works with credit cards. Its so much better. Even to get verified, if you have a CC they'll charge you a $, on the credit card statement there will be a 4 digit code, enter that code in paypal and you're verified.

Online transactions couldn't have been easier. Paypal automatically deducts the amount in rupees from the credit card for any order made in any other currency. Although you can store money in your paypal account from a credit card and then make transactions without the credit card.

ebay.in is hands down the best shopping site here in India. There are sellers who will charge exorbitant shipping, but mostly restrict yourself to power sellers, its as reliable as you can get.

Did our customs dept ever bugged you ?

Btw, i got a question..isnt it better, if u got a credit card, to buy directly with it at ebay.com?? I mean instead of going the paypal way..cos those suckers will then take out their commission off every purchase or transaction..aint it?? :S

If you buy from ebay.com and select payment as credit card through paypal, I think the first couple of transactions are free. You need to directly click on buy, you'll be redirected to the paypal site and you can register yourself as a new user and you should be able to complete the transaction. Thats what I have done, after that you need to pay $1.95 to paypal for any future transactions.

Private Ryan,

online purchasing with credit card isn't recomended, some might even steal'n misuse it. paypal or any similar service offer you protection by paying on your behalf without revealing your financial details or spending hahits.

if you are a buyer, paypal won't charge a penny for transactions, cause they get commission from the seller.

Not really Shakensoul, they charge you $1.95 first, then refund it after your first purchase. They haven't charged anything other than $1.95 yet, and i got it back after my first transaction.

another new entrant is futurebazaar.com (from the owners of big bazaar)

i purchased from em once abt two mnths ago and they delivered the products

in 2 days flat...quite impressive! can't say how much cheaper the prices are but

they seem to be upto market standards.
