Graphic Cards Which is better 8800GTS 320MB or 8800GT 512MB(Non OC)

Hi guys this is my first post. Its nice to be in the bandwagon of TechEnclave. This community is the best out there :clap: . Anyway before i get u bored let me get to my question. Im on the verge of upgrading by g-card and i had one lined up as well, XFX's Geforce 8800GTS 320MB(cant afford the 640 ver.) non OC(as i wish to OC it myself). But horrors of horrors :@ , just when i was about to grab my card i heard about the new kid on the block from Nvidia;the 8800GT with 512MB of memory. As i said before i wish to buy the non OC ver. of the card. I have seen that most of the specs of the 8800GT is higher than 8800GTS 320MB except the memory architechture which is 256bit for GT and 320bit for GTS. There is also the memory angle to consider 512 as against 320:huh: . So i come to my question; which will be a better buy for me and if possible can u mention why?? Also can u give me a link where these two have been pitted aginst each other. It would be a great help for me. Thanx beforehand.:)

Just a suggestion ok, try to read all the threads u have before urs and search around the forum for some reviews, if u have done that u wouldnt have required tis thread.

as far as the card goes , 8800GT 512MB is the Card.
 
this choice is a no brainer ok the 8800gt is wayway way way way better than the gts 320 and even the 640 ok so use ure brains and go for the gt

Man read some threads from posting something... 8800GT is one of the best price/performace gfx cards ever released
 
Thanx guys. I hav just got myself the xfx 8800GT 512MB(Alpha Dog Edition)for 14500. I hav 1 more question. I hav read in a few tech magazines that the Alpha Dog Edition is the highest OCed version of xfx's 8800GT lineup & that their core speed is 670MHZ as compared 2 the stock's 600. But my box pack shows my core speed at 600. Am i missin sumthin here?? Plz help.
 
Is it the Alpha Dog Standard Edition ?

The XXX and Extreme editions are Oc'ed if I am not wrong.

XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512MB DDR3 XXX

(PV-T88P-YDD4)

the XXX edition is the fastest ok
 
Yes i hav also read abut those other editions but then what is the differece betwn a standard XFX 8800GT 512MB & the Alpha Dog Edition. As the name suggests it is different frm the other crop(like XXX n all). If so then what exactly is the difference??? I hope im not pestering u guys with my questions but i jus want 2 know whats what thas all..Cheers

there is no normal 8800GT from XFX, all 3 of them are called Alpha Dog edition and all of them use the reference cooler by Nvidia, so there is nothing special in the Alpha Dog editions other than the name itself.
 
for this sole reason, i just wrote the guide out there...MODS, it wud save these guys a lot of time and questions if that were made a sticky in the Graphic cards Section :D
