Planning to purchase either of the two . Acer one looks pretty good specifications wise biggest plus being full size USB port and at nice price of 27990(one can get for even lower price)considering galaxy tab 10.1 will be launching around 35k .

Dont see any difference between Asus transformer and this except transformer has better IPS screen.

Since had ipad before is it worth going for ipad2?

Plzzz guys help with ur suggestions.:)

No didnt gotta chance to.:( Was snatched awayfrom me.

Hey buddy,

What happened to your sister's iPad2..?

Din't you take it for a ride before gifting..?

For me A500 is better than ipad2.

I found honeycomb great with lots and lots of customisations .

It can play flash 10.3 out of box without lagging anything , absolutely smooth.

It has expandable micro sd slot.

Built in Full USB 2.0 port so you can plug in external flash drives or a USB keyboard. Just plug in ur pen drive and its done.

It can easily be hooked to my computer via USB and it acts like any other drive on my computer.

Built in micro HDMI port , no need of buying adapter etc.

Widescreen ratio seems great for movie playback.

i m enjoying A500 more with USB being the most important thing in it.

Been using iPad 2 for about a month now and it is just Amazing. To be honest, the Android can even leave a geek confused of what needs to be there on the home screen and what not.

My vote goes to iPad 2.

Honeycomb is still being refined, but fundamentally the choice between iPad and Android will depend on how you plan to use it. As a media, casual gaming and internet device it works flawlessly.

But as a halfway laptop replacement which can exist as an entity on its own without syncing with the pc and with access to file system and things like that you will find it coming short. In that case Android is far more usable imho.

raul has pretty much nailed it.

If you want OOTB functionality and ease-of-use, the iPad 2 is the winner here. Ofc it comes with its share of niggles like dependability on iTunes and so forth. But the sheer number of applications available in the store would beat any other device!

OTOH, Android devices require some tinkering around and takes a while getting used to the process. You buy a device, you may want to install a custom ROM to improve the performance, usability and then some. This is the device a true geek would love to have. Features drag-n-drop, support for additional storage, display-out (if you need to connect the device to a HDTV) etc.

You haven't listed down your requirements. Buy the device that fits the list. I went ahead with the iPad 2 because as far as my usability is concerned, I would prefer a device which isn't bulky so I could carry it around in my backpack, works fairly well OOTB, for the occasional browsing on the move, some videos, music, TP games etc. The iPad 2 pretty much summed them up and I got a good deal from the US. What's more - the warranty holds good here! :)

ipad 2 is an idiot proof toy. That is, its easy to use but not too many out of the box features. Sure it has more apps.
Honeycomb is for the power user like most of the ppl on this forum are expected to be. Its an OS designed specifically for the tablets. On the other hand the iOS is now beginning to show its age as its not an OS designed grounds up for an tablet. Eg: the multitasking is a joke in iOS, u gotta double tap home-button then too it just shows the icons of the apps running(suspended actually). Its very different in honeycomb. See videos on youtube.

For technology enthusiasts, the ipad 2 doest offer anything new and exciting. The honeycomb is exact opposite.

I thought over the same question a lot, last month and finally decided to go with Motorola Xoom over the ipad. Even though the ipad is cheaper. The iOS on ipad is the same thing in a bigger package. The honeycomb represents what an OS designed specifically for tablets should look/feel like. Although it needs improvement, but the direction is correct, i think.

^Warranty can be claimed from India. A TE member called up Apple support and verified the same.

^^Mate, how do you compare the screens of Iconia and ipad 2?

How is the battery of iconia?

I am still stuck with the tab.Getting a good deal for ipad2 but still kind of undecided(not a big fan of i.o.s,but like apple)

Hey u said u ordered ipad2 from letsbuy?

Well screen to me of Acer A500 is pretty good ,it can be compared to my galaxy tab which i had previously or better than it. Ipads screen is tad better with more warmer colors but its just minor difference which can only be found when both are kept side by side. I love screen quality of acer.

Overall Honeycomb is great, i was bit apprehensive abt HC before buying it but after using it its so much better than IOS with loads and loads of customisations , i love it. Flash works great on it and man i love full USB port on it. just hook pen drive to it and all data transferred from pc to tab or vice versa.

Battery life i got is 8 hrs with continous surfing , movie watching ,wifi on all the time.

I just cant keep my Acer down and my ipad2 is left unused since the day i got A500. It has everything i want and really limited my use of laptop.
