Camera which is the best entry level digital camera?

Not able to find the LZ8 easily in bangalore , bit stumped on other options now.

Any suggestions for a decent enough basic camera within 6k? This is for a first time newbie user with limited usage. Manual controls / other frills are secondary

LZ8 not available in JJ Mehta any more..
will try few shops in Colaba this weekend..

btw, it's there on eBay for 6600 & 9000 bucks.. not sure if these are genuine ones..

How exactly a fake camera looks?? Buy from reputed seller from ebay, WITH warranty and rest assured.

i would suggest getting a camera with more Optical Zoom with IS .

pamy brings to India 2typs-made in China & Japan,
chck it, china ones are cheaper,

My LZ-10 is also Made in China as written on the camera but does it make any difference?
I have 3 yrs warranty (purchased from Panasonic Brand Shop).
