Which ISP to choose in mumbai?

I have been using Hathway for the last 2 years but last month I have got horrible connectivity and service.
So I have decided to change my provider if I get some good and cheap broadband provider.

My Current Plan is 512Kbps UL for 650 with taxes.

I am looking for something for 650 or below per month and ideally a UL connection.

I do not have a MTNL Landline. So Triband is out. I do not need wi-fi.

Also If any 3G service is available at this price(i doubt there will be but still). I don't mind buying a dongle if its VFM.

Nice plan.. but sadly do not have a MTNL connection and not keen on getting one.

I will mostly go for Tikona I guess now.
 
buddy do not go for tikona. Their services and net speed both are worst. Better get a MTNL landline and be happy with Triband connection. Peace of mind ...
 
You are in Kandivali - One of the Oldest & Biggest MTNL Exchange in Mumbai & have no MTNL Line in your area?

There is online form for MTNL BB connection just fill online & get Rs.200/- discount till moth end or so... check with MTNL Mumbai site.

I know but I am currently on Rent and hence do not want to get a MTNL Landline.

I just called the guy for a demo. He came and I checked the speeds and all for 15 seems. Seemed good. Any bad history in particular?
 
check with local cable operators. some have their own hubs so there wont be download issues. other than that for truly unlimited broadband, triband is the only option.
 
local cable operators internet service is worse, service down for weeks and bad support!
even i registered for MTNL BB connection with rent free landline so just 495/mnth ul plan.
 
Does your building has Airtel connection box? I have been using Airtel BB for 2 yrs @700/- per month; 2 mbps; FUP 15 GB; speed half after that.
Fairly good experience; had only 2-3 instances without connection and that too restored in 1-2 days.

If u don't need hassles of any wires, then go for photon+ or reliance net connect unlimited plans (though costly). Have used photon+ for short time.
