hand down acer.

built quality of acer is a little bad and the proccesor is less powerful(veery little difference though).BUT the important thing is you can get 3 years extended warranty on acer plus save some at the price of sony vaio.also gpu of acer is MUCH superior

Sony VAIO comes with standard 2 year warranty too,Warranty & after repairs are still a mojor concern for lap owners.We are now in a situation where nobody can predict which one is good & bad !.Th best option is to collect feedback from the same model owners only.As per service Different locations have different issues too.

make a little r&d in your area and decide the target !

Boss , Acer 5740G hands down

I have Acer 5740 in my home . The mouse pointer is a bit laggy and the keyboard felt like it has been squashed by the weight of the LCD above

But believe me , the rating for the system is 3.9

5.9 - COre i3 330M
6.5 - 3 GB DDR3 1066mhz
3.9 - Desktop Aero
5.5 - Gaming GFx
5.9 - HDD

Overall Acer has created a stir in laptop market with Acer 5740G and partially with Acer 5740 . They are simply unbeatable at their price points

I would say go for Acer 5740G + 3 Yrs extended warranty

Ati 5650 - DX11 but GT330M - DX 10.1 , now make the choices .

The temps of Acer lappy is also good considering that the positon of the fan is at it best location .

You can even take Notepal Infinite ( Laptop Cooler ) with cost of Acer 5740G
