Hi,

Please suggest me that which model of i10 is the best within the price range of 4.5 lakhs.

This is going to be my first car mainly for driving within the city,,,:)

Call a hyundai dealer and get the OTR prices in your city if possible. It would give others a better idea of what models are your options.

Recently hyundai i10 has been launched with the new design and features.

Hyundai i10 Magna (Metalic) Kappa will definitely come within your range.

Thanks for the reply guys...

@mjumrani

Will do it asap

I searched for all the models but mostly found the following 3 models...

The Era, Magna , Sportz and the D - lite...

Now I m getting confused in which one of the them is the best and which of the above has the kappa...

Magna and above come in Kappa.

Magna also comes in 1.1

Like I said need OTR prices before advising.

Though if I were you, I would go with atleast Sportz option pack for ABS and Airbag

Magna wouldn't be as good an option frankly. If you're spending your money on a car, I say do not compromise with safety.

Dude, he has a budget of Rs 4.5 lacs (i am assuming it's max) so the only and best option is "Magna Kappa2"

Assuming your budget is 4.5L on-road, your best bet is the Kappa Magna. This would still beat your 4.5L budget by around 15 grand. However, this model is definitely worth the extra moolah over the iRDE (1.1L) Magna.

@mjumrani

On which safety terms are u telling that the magna is not good,,,? :(

As such i will be buying it either in Mysore or Mangalore so the OTR prices will take time as the place is not finalised yet,,,

If somebody has recently bought any of the i10 's then they can share there model of the i10 as well as the price for which they bought??

It would be of great help

Moreover what are the chances that if i book the car now i will get it by diwali

AFAIK, there is no waiting for the i10, including the recently launched upgraded models. You should be able to get delivery in a couple of days atmost.

Magna is a great car, mjumrani has been insisting on ABS and airbags, but honestly within city traffic I would not really say they are mandatory. ABS is a good to have option, but airbags, strictly not required for city drives unless you are really bad on luck.

I was just suggesting one should have at least ABS. Air bags are secondary as they usually come with top end versions of the car. I just consider safety as important. I don't consider accidents as bad luck, they are just the result of someone's bad driving or things which are out of ones control. One can't just ignore safety and just jump in for a feature rich car without safety features, I think that is the first mistake one makes.

Also city drive does not mean one only drives at 40. People tend to cross 80 and 100 in the city too. And they also tend to go in the highway once in a while, where no one drives slowly.

I couldn't find the on road prices and everyone here says Magna is your best bet, then it must be.

Are OTR prices in Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore same or similar?

I also understand at the current budget its hard to get ABS and airbags

Presently both models of i10 r available in showrooms, with i10 old trim they r offering lots of freebies (contact ur nearby Hyundai dealer for details). New i10 which is also called Next Gen i10 is launched with new VTVT Engine, though the engine itself is not new (already working in Verna etc). Now regarding ur budget and best suited model, as fellow TE members have already mentioned that new i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa2 perfectly falls in ur budget but i would recommend u for 'Sports' model, it will cost u around + 30k thn Magna but for spending that amount u will get

1- 2 Din Music Player

2- Aux & USB ports

3- Rear Wiper & washer

4- Rear Defogger

5- Rear Spoiler

6- Electric Heated Outside Mirror

7- Door & Tailgate Ajar Warning

8- Driver Seat Belt Warning

and few other features

Take few test drives (must be with family) before deciding any model/company.

And do post in show off model ur buy.

@xxjayxx

Thanks for the inputs...will definately be test driving most of the i10 version to get the best ...:)

Is the VTVT engine and the iRDE (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) the same? :huh:

No they r not, iRDE is 1.1 ltr which generates 66.7 bhp @5500rpm & VTVT(kappa) is 1.2lts engine which generates 78.9bhp @ 5200 rpm
