The only reason for not choosing PS3 is messed up economics and inferior GPU. The 1st being most important factor. The initial investment in PS3 in India is just too huge.

Xbox has nice balance of power and economics.

I am one of those who is of mindset that all the platforms have enough enjoyable games. A title or two as such wont make me decide a platform.

PC will always there for everything else :p

Inferior hardware really don't matter (Wii!), but the Ps3's only half a gaming system, the other half is a next-generation Blu-Ray player from the inventors of Blu-Ray themselves and then a linux box.

X360 misses out in linux and next-gen player (HD-DVD). X360 + HdDVD = 600$, and that too 20gb. 20gb Ps3 + Blu-Ray player = 500 - So Ps3 can actually turn out cheaper if you look it at a different angle.

Heck, I'm thinking of buying a 20gb Ps3 instead of 60GB one, the Hard drive can be upgraded to 720GB now, wireless controllers can be bought so the only think I'll be missing on is the MMC reader (Sony Duo only), but since it has a USB port, an MMC card reader will easily substitude that, so the only big loss is Wi-Fi which many people in India at least won't be needing.

So Indians should go for Ps3 20gb, costing 500, only a 100 bucks more than Xbox360 but then for those 100 you get a (1000$)Blu-Ray player + Linux.

Though I'm aware to some next-gen media don't matter now, but there will be a time when it will.

And PS3's leading in the poll :p

PC gaming is fun although the cost involved in upgrading those graphic cards + the cpu/system bottlenecks is a bit too steep for me. Somehow I never could appreciate PC games gfx(Crysis and Oblivion seem to prove me otherwise) maybe coz i never had a bigger screen than 17 inches. So far my experience with the 360 has been amazing, although im not a great gamer by any means, i normally dont have the time or skills to get through a game although i'd love to. This trend of leaving most games midway has changed a bit once I got my hands on GOW !! This is one amazing game, I have had unbelievable hours of fun and sometimes scared shit too! This is one game has moved my vote towards the x360, although i haven't had a chance to try the ps3. the Wii well i think its different and cool and shouldn't be compared to MS or Sony consoles

so u mean to say u figured out now that u should buy a 500$ ps3. lol. always had in mind to pickup a 500$ ps3. also the 500$ ps3 gives wireless controllers so u dont have to buy it seperately params unless u want to get a 2nd controller which u will to buy in a 600$ ps3 also. only diff is the card slots which are useless, wifi which will also be useless here in india cause i guess ps3 online will be hard (but still a ethernet port is there anyways), & the last difference being the smaller 20gb hdd compared to the 60gb which really doesnt matter as u can upgrade it.

Well see exactly, i dont care about any other aspect other than gaming and entertainment. for Linux i will always have pc.

And i will prefer HD DVD today than uncertain Blue ray in future. HD DVD is not forced now and when time comes people can opt it as option. And the best part is that drive works with pc too.

If i am to even think of anything other than xbox it will be Wii. PS3 is simply not in consideration for me as of now.

And to those hoping for better gfx on PS3. Do keep in mind that there are things that Xbox will always be able to do when it comes to gfx that no matter what PS3 wont be able to achieve. If a game dev decides to make full use of xbox gfx hardware there is a certain amount of guarantee it will look better than PS3.

Well Pc is the first choice. And as an add on i will pick up PS3 simply beacuse its a mini supercomp (cell processor), lbue-ray player(cheapest till date ) and blah blah blah.
Its truely next gen dude....
