21-30k Which one to buy? Dell inspiron 3521 OR Lenovo B490

Hello folks,

Looking to buy a laptop on behalf of my friend.
As the title itself says, i am stuck in deciding between the two models
1.Dell Inspiron 3521
2. Lenovo B490

Also there is an other model in this price range if anyone want to discuss
Toshiba C850 - i0014(a little lower config compared with above)

Please suggest me which one to go with.

I just purchased dell one. Yet tp get the delivery. If you want any specific information about that model, let me know.

First of all, congrats on your new lappy.
Also please let me know your impressions after receiving it.
 
Ok., so here are thr initial impressions.
Laptop looks sleek, sturdy and simple in design. There are no flashing lights. Textured on the surface looks and feels good.
 
Downside, there is no manual volume button. Also the charging, hard disk and wireless indicators are at thr bottom which are difficult to see.

How much did you pay for it?
 
Go for the Lenovo B490 if ur friend is okay with 14" screen or Lenovo B590 if 15" screen is required since the proccy in b490 has 2.4 Ghz 3110M whereas dell 3521 has a 1.8 Ghz 3217U
Although Dell machine has a 4GB RAM and Lenovo 2GB RAM, this shouldn't be a big concern as the RAM can be upgraded but upgrading the proccy would become impossible keeping the laptop in warranty..
My suggestion , go for Lenovo, rest the choice is yours both are good systems and brands.. It would be also better if you can ask your friend to have an actual look at the laptops in terms of how they look and then make a decision as again both are good systems with Lenovo having a little high processing capability.
 
DELL Quality is not as good as it was in past.
The company exist ONLY because Brand Reputation (they earned in past) and After Sales Service.

Edit: They replaced my "21.5 LED monitor" 2-3 times (iirc) and every time with every Monitor (piece of crap) some new issue keep developing after 6 months. I'm fade up of this all, as I have other work too other than run for Service/replacment after every 6 months.

Yes, Dell has gone to the dogs, Lenovo on the other hand has released some of the best laptops in recent times and their after sales service has been awesome, atleast for me.
