Well guys im planning to buy 1 TB :ohyeah: external hard disk and 1 internal hard disk.... I was thinking to buy WD Essential edition as i saw one at switch's place n really liked it but then on net i saw Home Edition..... Now my question is which one should i buy Home edition or Essential edition as i'll be using it to store HD movies,DVD rips n some games.......

Now for Internal hard disk... I was thinking of Seagate 500GB 7200.12 but got confused with WD 640GB AAKS..... Which one should i buy?

N i have heard that prices are going down n will be effective from monday so is it true?

Have tight budget of 10k..... Please mention prices also.

TIA

I'm not an internal HDD fan, But i'd prefer 640AAKS for data reliability and the speeds are very close to 7200.12, I just bought the AAKS from Amarbir and its really good, Very quite and runs at low temp, I can hear those platters spin with confidence :P

relax dude,

wait a while before replies ;)

anyways heres wat i suggest , if going for 1tb do not opt for seagate (they have a high failure rate) get a wd .. and for external also opt for wd (get the essential as your on a tight budget)!

a couple of weeks back i saw the essential edition 1tb for 5590 i think.. seems like a gr8 price to me! but a 1600 premium for firewire doesnt really seem worth it! rest u decide

^For a dump storage, no. For a drive meant for OS + backup, probably yes but I wouldn't spend a grand more on the Caviar Black.

The Seagate 7200.12 is a notch lower than the Caviar Black when it comes to speeds but better than the 10EADS. Reliability is a question when it comes to Seagate. ;)
