Car & Bike Which Petrol Hatchback to buy @ 6 lacs?

Ohk much to the dislike of people I have bought the VW Polo petrol comfortline , done around 3k kms on it since late july'14 . I got the new polo , the 1.2L petrol , first i like the way engine is vocal on high rpms on low rpms its a bit noisier than my Aveo i had but its fine with me . Drive and comfort is good on the car not much rooms but around 6 of my college mates have traveled in it without much hassle . Economy wise gives me around 12~13kmpl (city), 16~kmpl(highway) with A/C .And I may clash in opinion but the 1.5Tdi is no way less in response than the other cars i have driven . Ritz(had done 400kms and then again drove it when it had done around 1200kms) , Swift VDI , i10 and old i20 . Yes the new i20 elite comes with a lot of features but when i had seen the old one build of VM seemed to be much better than the others and since safety is one of my major concerns VW had them all. Swift for that matter is *ahem-ahem*. If its space you are looking for i would safely place my bet on i20 elite . My bro is also booking i20 elite tomorrow and am looking forward to driving it :D . kudos.
PS: I have done red line shift on my polo and the curve seems to be pretty good and yeah it cuts off after a certain red line but isn't that a feature in the ECU to prevent the engine damage , I maybe wrong but that's what i had gathered of teambhp forums.

I got the new polo , the 1.2L petrol , do you mean the GT TSi
first i like the way engine is vocal on high rpms on low rpms its a bit noisier than my Aveo i had but its fine with me . The thing is that if someone else starts the car, its so noisy that you think its a diesel. But on the inside you cant hear it.
Drive and comfort is good on the car not much rooms but around 6 of my college mates have traveled in it without much hassle . You + 6 mates = 7 people in a Polo. Mind = Blown
Economy wise gives me around 12~13kmpl (city), 16~kmpl(highway) with A/C .And I may clash in opinion but the 1.5Tdi is no way less in response than the other cars i have driven . Decent numbers, those.
Ritz(had done 400kms and then again drove it when it had done around 1200kms) , Swift VDI , i10 and old i20 . Rephrase the sentence please.

That, sir is known as a rev-limiter. All modern cars have it. And FYI on the Polo it is 6300 RPM. About 1300 RPM over the red line.

of the three cars we have, the polo returns 14, ritz 12 and i20 9-11, All with Ac, All in a tier 2 city but no B2B traffic. The Ritz can deliver more, but I think the engine makes you go heavy footed.
.
9 sounds quite low. My sister gets around 13/15 on the Grand i10 with/without the AC. I thought the i20 would return similar figures because it has the same engine

The Figo seems a bit long in the tooth now. Plus, its set to be replaced by the Ka soon.

And I have the non TSi model .
Yeah sound is an issue i know for outside , one of my first points that i didnt go for polo initially. But the engine is vocal a bit when pushed even on the inside though I like that sound of the car .
And when I said 6 of us , I should be more clear that is including me .
I have driven the Ritz VDi , Swift VDi quite often and i10 ,i20(old one) both test drive cars , and didnt find much lag in the Polo TDi as compared to the others . I just shared my view on it as someone said the TDi seemed to be lazy , while I found the TDi to be much powerful .
VM was a typo it would be VW.
Kudos was to the OP for his will be new car .
Thanks I didnt know the rev limiter was at that rpm , I have hit it once and i knew it was called that :p didnt recollect it at the time of writing.
And getting back to OP yeah few of my friends owning i20 have complained about the economy too.

very good choice, congratz!
One thing you can do at delivery is to ask your dealer on delivery is to activate "autolock door at speeds above 20 kmph"
Incredibly useful and the elite i20 lacks it out of the box/Factory.

Got the car today. Sure looks lovely in this colour, I am happy I didn't go in for White.

The reverse camera being built into the IRVM is pretty useful.

Got two things installed from the dealer, he put this wood thing for free. I don't really care for it. And got bucket type leather seat covers as well. Look pretty good, they fit them surprisingly well.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions.

Wow ! Congrats on your purchase. I almost finalized this car before giving it a snub for some non-related reason but might be going for it soon. Share your initial feedback. Shall be looking forward to it :)
