PC Peripherals which printer for home office use?

I want to purchase a printer for my home. But I am also looking for a fax/phone facility in that.
WHAT I NEED -
Recommend me a good machine with features like
Print
Scan
copy
fax
phone

WHAT I PREFER
Also to scan books or magazines I prefer Flatbead over sheetfed scanners.

u didnt tell whether u need an inkjet or a lasejet

if inkjet then:
get the canon mx-308 5k~
just perfect for ur needs
it has flatbed scanner
22 ppm
2pl ink droplet
600dpi scanner
g3 fax
pict bridge as well

it doesnt have an inbuilt phone but u can attach any phone set with it

if u need the one with 30 page adf( automatic document feeder)
then get the canon mx-318 for ~8k

after initial googling, what I came to know is,

Besides having advantages of clarity, low operating cost Color Laserjets are costly then Inkjets. And as I'll be using the printer for home office I need color printouts as well. So I should go for color inkjets.

Now the questions are -

1. Do really Laserjet color printers costs more than color Inkjets?
2. Do spares and Ink (raw material) for Laserjets costs more than Inkjet's (spares and toner)?
3. Can't the Inkjet produce white ink on a dark/Black paper?

Cannon PIXMA MP160 is a gud choice for home and small business requirements. I have used it for 4 years in college. It has great Inkjet color quality. Buy ink from nehru place, Delhi & re-ink yourself. very cheap. Only disadvantage is that most inket ink is water soluble. You gotta make sure you purchase non-soluble ink for refilling.

Typical Laser B&W ull get for 6-6.5k. *Thats only printer.. not all in 1.
Laser colour wud be very costly... 2wice or more.
