PC Peripherals Which psu for AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE should work with stepped sine wave

Hi,
I am currently running on generic zebronics psu. Mobo gigabyte 780G with AMD athlon x2 4200+. I am going to upgrade to Phenom II 550 BE. I will change the mobo to biostar. At present i will use onboard graphics. Planning to add graphic card in future.
There is one constraint i dont want to purchase a new ups as i have Intex 600va ups. Suggest me a reliable psu which will work with intex ups and also this will be unlocked to quad and oc'ed and also future graphics card addition. Budget for psu is under 3K
 
seasonic 380w is a very good psu in 3k...and corsair cx400w is equally good..

if u dont plan to go for a gfx card higher than a hd4850 u can buy the vip 500w psu...
 
Thanks. Active PFC will not work with stepped sine wave. Correct me if i am wrong. Seasonic has active pfc i think it wont work with stepped sine wave ups like intex :huh:
 
Ok some more psu's added to the list.
For my AMD athlon 4400+ with 780G mobo i am planning to buy zebby pro 350W or VIP 400W. Please tell me which is better.

For 550BE the list as follows
Seasonic 380W -3.2K
corsair cx400 - ?price (Active or passive PFC)
Gigabyte 460W - 2.4K

I will be adding powerful graphics card once the price comes down and OC the proccy
 
If you are going to add a gpu and overclock a bit, then one among cx400, seasonic 380 should be a better bet. You could also consider vx450 which comes with 5 year warranty instead of 3 year warranty on the other ones and you could add the most powerfule single gpu card without any problems.cx400 should be around 3.2K and vx450 for 4.2K

All of them are active pfc psus. APC Back ups series will run them but with a buzzing sound. If you have got lot's of money, you could look at apc smart ups which are pure sinewave ups.
 
I dont have much money left. Initially thought of using generic zebby psu but its not wise to burn out 0922APMW rare batch.
I want cheaper psu and I may add HD4770 in the latter state. Nobody recommend gigabyte so I am dropping off from the list.

1. Seasonic 380w - 3.2k
2. CX 400 - 3.2K

vx450 - 4.2K
Is seasonic is available readily at ritchie street or need to order online.

Coming to the case how is zebby Antibiotic and Reaper and its cost.
