PC Peripherals Which RAM to get from US?

@$134 that geil PC4000( which will carry tcc4 chips or if he is lucky he will hit jackpot with tccd) is well within his Rs.6K max budget. Its atleast guaranteed to run at DDR500 speeds.

So, the Geil PC4000 is the only contender so far? Guess I'll go for that. Does it have any compatibility issues? Do its heatspreaders work properly? Cause I read that badly designed heatspreaders do more worse than good.
And will it work in my nForce2 right now?
Also, I'll probably go for the Asus A8N-E, as it has a max vdimm of 3V, whereas the neo4 P has a max vdimm of 2.85V. Will I get decent overclocking with this combo? (Asus + Geil+ Venice)

Questions, questions..... Is there anything more complicated than RAM?

Sure........ you can really overclock brilliantly......... And be cheerful man!!! You are getting stuff at prices which most people in India only dream abt.......... Dn't be so mournful...........

And Funky has mentioned quite a few times that he got a 30MHz better oc without the heatspreaders. So, I think you should remove the heatspreaders to get a better oc. But then, that will void the warranty which should not be such a big issue as once you bring them to India, anyway, you will not be abale to avail the warranty.....

picking the right stepping week venice so that OC's more at low volts , i have
spent a lot of time finding the right stepping Venice.

Still searching for more and more info.

Dont know if i can get 15th or 17th week Venice so looking for more info.

But how to check which stepping we're buying? I mean, do we check the boxes for the numbers, like we would check vegetables or something?

I know its printed on the proccy, but do we tell the dealer to show all the boxes he has, and check the numbers? Cause I dont think any dealer at lamington would care about steppings and stuff.

nothing wrong in asking for the boxes.
I asked mnemonic systems to show me the box and he did. And i picked it up the next day. Ya but dont expect most dealers in Lamington to know the stepping. most of them wont even know if its venice or not :P

You said i funky we can get a Venice for Winne rate like this if he doesnt know abt it ;)

But nothing can be said.

[Guys we are going completely offtopic]

AT that price its the best looking option.
I got my 4400 for $180 in a limited time sale. That time PC4000 was above $150 mark.
And it overclocks very well too.
