At my native place, my parents watch TV through Tata Sky and paying around 350 bucks for it. Apart from it, both of them have Airtel prepaid and are paying around 300 per month. There is no wifi at home as of now. Mostly they watch some serials on Sony and news channels. Mom hardly goes out and dad is also at home most of the time.

Requirement:
I was thinking to get Wifi at home so that they get more options to watch TV and also the data cost for mobile could be reduced.
What I am looking is to have LIVE TV as well with the subscription so that they watch it like regular TV apart from YT, etc.

The confusion is between which plan to take to have LIVE TV subscription both for Jio as well as Airtel !
Some places its mentioned that I have to pay around 600 Rs per month, some places it says 450! This is for Jio.

Airtel extreme also is confusing as to which plan will give the full access.

Please guide !

I got Airtel Xstream seperately for my mother, she watches Kaun Banega Crorepathi and asks me when I'll be going to on. She also uses the voice activated remote to find korma recipes on YouTube.

It's on the basic plan that which includes live channels in her preferred language. It needs wifi to fetch programming details but the actual signal is through a dish. I also got her two premium channels, they were a few extra rupees, the news channel she prefers and Sony for KBC.

The biggest issue so far has been the TV randomly switching to HDMI2 and showing a blank screen.

for jio prices are definitely wrong, I got a set-top box on my existing connection 200RS/month and I get all the basic OTTs like LIV, Prime Video, Hotstar (basically anything except netflix) and Live TV too, Jio's remote is a hit or a miss for voice stuff but the live channels PQ is very good for the price you are paying, and you get access to Jio Cinema too which for me makes it better than Airtel by default.

P.S. Jio works on fiber connection, no dish needed

JioTV and live content offerings with Jiofiber >> Any other ISP+Content offerings

+1 for going with Jio Fiber (not AirFiber; they are separate!)

They provide you with a setup box that works over Wi-Fi or you can tell them to wire it up to the main router as well. You can also hook up a landline to the router for free calling.
Their calling app also supports calling over Wi-Fi from any device on the network so you basically eliminate your monthly mobile recharges if your parents stay at home.
Live TV works pretty well and you get access to all the OTTs except Netflix & Prime over a certain plan limit.
The remote is kinda whack but voice typing works pretty well and you can always connect a BT Xbox controller and solve that issue. They have cloud gaming as well with some good RPGs and strategy games that older folks might enjoy.

Got it. Its pretty clear now.
I was not aware that Airtel Xtreme needs a separate Dish to stream LIVE channels !
Jio is way ahead to them in this case!!!

Now, which Jio plan will be required to have the Live TV access ? (Speed doesnt matter as they barely use any data and the TV is not 4K as of now).
