PC Peripherals Which sound card????

as the honorable poboy said, dont buy the soundcard yet. give your onboard a chance ... sometimes you may be quite happy with it.Otherwise , see if you can borrow a Soundblaster Live 24 bit live , and try it out before you decide to buy it. the differences between soundcards dont tend to be as obvious as those between speakers :)

why dont you do this, ready ur comp use on onboard for a while,if your not happy...buy a sound card then , most onboards r really good these days, give it a chance, what do you have to loose ?

Hi guys!!

Finally I got my MX5021. I installed it yesterday. Sound quality is really awesome but I am missing the treble somewhat????

It may be because of my soundcard. My onboard sound is Realtek ALC882
High Definition Audio 8-channel CODEC.

Please suggest if I require a soundcard?? or its just the breakup period for
the speaker, so I am missing the treble??

Also suggest a media player with some plug-in for best audio experience.

Thanx in advance.

read this guide... it might help out with the treble :)

If you are using winamp, i would recommend the out_ds_ssrc plugin

izotope ozone is a good plugin if you want to enhance the treble.. its not free though :(
I am using WMP 10. Though I have winamp Pro 5.23, Real Player 10G Premium,
i-tunes 6.2, Mediamonkey 2.5.295 Gold etc etc. I have almost all media player
with their premium versions except foobar. But I thought WMP 10
is still best for music.

But thanks for ur suggestions.

Personally I Use iTunes 6, it serves best for me, since you're using a Realtek Sound Card, go to Control Panel>Sound Speech and Audio Devices>Sound Manager , Go to the Equalizer Tab and Select "Powerful" or "Rock" Or Select "Treble", You can cutomize the equalizer to suit your needs. Hope this helped:)

dude , so did you finally get a soundcard/surround speakers?

No yaar, I have dropped the idea of surround speakers.

and by recommendation I want to buy M-Audio Audiophile 24/96, but again its not available locally:mad: and I have no idea of online shopping:huh:

So I thought of buying 2 Audigy2 Value, but again could not find it here in CTC hyderabad.

thats strange... creative should have an authorized dealer in hyderabad... they have so many here in trivandrum... is CTC the largest PC retailer there? btw, dont talk to the PR pple wherever you go, insist that you talk to someone who knows their stuff. most probably they wont have the audigy2 in stock they'll try to sell you the SB live... tell them that you are willing to wait and ask them to give you a quote. here is their distributor list .. i think there is someone in hyderabad
