am getting a voltas 1.5t for 21k tommorrow :).

Check out the models from carrier.

I have Voltas Veritas or whatever windows AC, cools great, but is LOUD!!! So make sure that the one you are buying doesnt suffer from the same.

Yeah, i know about these noisy Windows AC, getting the split only, so shouldn't be any problem:)

i got the Electrolux EA18SCRXW3/WH for 20k in November, 2006

great AC, great after sale service, 6 years warranty & cools fast

highly recommended by me at least

As per my Friends Experience STAY AWAY FROM LG AC and Vacuum Cleaner.

He bought AC and VC from LG and within 6 and 3 months respectively shows dust bean to each of them as LG service people find that Both Product have FAULT out of there skill they just avoid calls and if By chance attend than keep forwarding from one Person to Another.

He bought 2 videocon (Oxygen Fresh ... ) split AC for 16k each in Last December so far no complaint till today, has Voltas window AC from last 4-5 years no complaint with #1 Service Support so far from Voltas.

i wont saw u go for LG, they develop problems quite fast, n shops recommend LG n Samsung cos these companies give huge dealer margins unlike many other brands.....i would say voltas or if can spend more then definetly General

the quote in red is in opposite to what i used to believe till today, what i have been told always is that you install an AC just .25 tonne more than what your room measurements require. It may help in electricity consumption.

Right now i have
ONe electrolux Split 1.5 tonne and Two Frizair window 1.5 tonnes ACs installed.

i am satisfied by their services over the period of last 5 years.

I am getting installed two 1.5 tonnes one, and one 1.0 tonnne ACs next week infact the work is on right now for installing tubing and electrification modification.

I have selected Onida this time around because it has highest rated BTU compared to all the other models in market.

If you need the best go for O-general, Daikin (they do have reciprocating compressors in their split models) which are quiter, better cooling, long term satisfaction. Hitachis also fall just a tag below ( they have recently introduced a new product line ranging from 30-40ks)

these three brands retail upwards of 40 k plus installation charges.

If you are on a budget

You got Electrolux / Onida / Whirpool to choose from almost same on parameters with slight variations here and there. almost simillar pricing. 20-25 k for 1.5 tonnes.

You must avoid korean brands LG / Samsung and also chinese brands like TCL.

hope this helps.

ps i have copy pasted same from other thread.

BTU:S & importance?

Onida assembled each and every product, they do not have mfg. plant. may you get some idea about product.

What you say about Videocon , i hear that VC use Hitachi compressor\?
