Which VPS to take?

Its regarding another client this time around. According to previous suggestions We went with soladrive small plan. Now with additional extra features we need to get a VPS with more CPU power and RAM.


The client is ready to spend upto $150 per month for the same.


CPU power is most important here since it will have a lot of database queries. and preferred a 1Gbps network speed.

Also now used it it. so unmanaged will do. though managed will be preferred.

Well @varkey . Is it the same as managing a VPS? I havent used a dedicated server till date. If it would be same then the machines look quite powerful

Also anything on the US east coast is what the client needs.
Any pointers for that?

I have heard good things about Linode. Linode - Xen VPS Hosting .

Its mostly unmanaged but they seem to be testing a managed service recently. You can try it free for 7 days with a no questions asked money back refund if you decide you dont need it.

Yes, its the same. The only difference is that the entire server is for you. Management/Installation etc are all the same.
