WHR-HP-G54 is a bit costlier than WHR G54S [Hope i am correct]

But WHR G54S does the job perfectly i feel.

@ linuxtechie - i wud advice you to learn more on 3rd Party firmwares tomato and DDWRT as they unlock new possibilities for the Buffalo routers.

Both WHR-HP-G54 & WHR G54S work with Tomato and DDWRT.

Thanks Quad Master!

I have gone on for WHR-HP-G54 just for that precise reason.

I got it from Aastha Computers in Nehru Place Delhi.

I also got a Netgear WHR614v7 a few weeks ago for only Rs 1725 or 1750 and it is also working great.

The WHR-HP of Buffalo is expensive as its the High Powered model but for my home usage the normal one has proved much more than sufficient

anyone know where can i get buffalo in ahmedabad ? or i was thinking about WRT54G L . even GL is not available here . what could be the price for WRT54GL

Thnx

Get a WHR-G54S and flash it with Tomato Firmware.

With the tomato f/w the buffalo whr g54s is totally rocking.

Other gr8 3rd party f/w supported by buffalo is DD-WRT but most of the people prefer Tomato.

Note: Flash at ur own risk and read in detail about the flashing procedure.

Read More on the buffalo whr g54s here

Hmm Google...? Anyway, good one here: Wireless access point - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
, a wireless access point (WAP or AP) is a device that connects wireless communication devices together to form a wireless network. The WAP usually connects to a wired network, and can relay data between wireless devices and wired devices.
A Wifi router is the one that is an AP + (DHCP/PPPoE) Client and hence has the abilities to router /NAT between the network it owns and the one its connected to. For e.g. : You <-> WIFI <-> BSNL.

Go for buffalo... linksys i.e. CISCO are big suckers and won't give you the choice of using your own firmware. Those damn folks also reduced the hardware as well.

which one should i get buffalo WHR-G54 or buffalo WHR-G54L can any one say cons and pro's of these two routers.

today i made a call to buffalo distributor he said that if your using 24online client the wifi routers dont work. I use normal cable connection and 24online client to connect to net! what should i do ? ashu_dps do you use 24online client to connect are you able to connect to the internet plz help me out guys and which model should i get ???? my use is to share the net connection with desktop and laptop and other wifi enabled devices?? help!

Sorry, i dont have any idea about this 24online client. I use Spectrasmart and Tata over my routers and these both work perfectly

me too got my whr g54s and must say it rocksssssssssss

got it for 2.2K.

I feel that 24online and pacenet might not be supported as they have there propriety dialers.
Just ask them if they support pppoe logins for router.
