I am looking for a Wifi router to use with my laptop, iPod touch and mobile phone. Which one would be the best in this budget ?
Also, can anyone tell me what is up with the ASUS - WL520gu ?:S

What does torrent downloader mean ?
Does it mean, that one doesnt require a pc/laptop to be connected, just an external HDD, with custom firmware ?
Im kinda new to wireless n/w, so any help would be appreciated.

with the price u have mentioned u will get Belkin G router(1.2k) and Dlink DIR-300(1.5K) routers. I don't think they are torrent downloaders.

The beetel 450TC1 is an ADSL 2+ router m8..... Those which you have suggested are only BB routers (no modem )

About the torrent downloader, are you asking about downloaders like u-torrent,lime wire or bittorrent??

Exactly. A torrent downloader is a micro-PC in a router - Router with USB + USB HDD + Linux-based custom firmware == independent micro-PC capable of running torrents / downloads / dynDNS / basic server stuff all by itself without requiring any PC in your network to be on. :cool2:

Many ASUS routers are widely used for that. But my recent search in Bangalore got no results for ASUS routers (Shops were like, "ASUS makes routers?" :S) I found some Belkin model (N+) with wifi-n and USB, but don't know if it's firmware would be customizable.

IMHO, even if there are some other customizable model available with USB, 1.5k is too less a budget for such routers. (The Belkin N one was >4k and costed ~1k more than Belkin N router without USB)

Thanks for the thread...i am also looking for a wi-fi router within 1.5k for my Ipod Touch and home use.

It should be a good range router..

BTW thread title & query abt ASUS - WL520gu are so contradictory..
