Same situation here, can't even think about watching those 700 MB rips. Anything less than 720p is unwatchable. :P

With 4mbps UL for 6 hours a day, I'm always downloading 1080p/720p versions. :P

I think it all depends on screen size.on my 17'' crt 700mb rips are good.but when i play them on my new 22inch hd monitor, they look like cam print. Now,i only watch micro hd or higher.

Yeah, i see in this thread is near unanimous preference for HD.

I WILL NOT WATCH HD UNTIL ITS AVAILABLE FROM MY CABLE WALLAH !

This way I can still enjoy my SD and buys more time till the powers that be decide to give us proper speeds.

700mb rips are cool and i dont think so its easy and worth to go each and evrything for 1080 or so unless or untill someone is obsessed with it

For me,

1080p is good only for super duper awesome action Hits (Batman etc.)

720p is good enough for action flicks and shows.

Brrips is good enough for normal movies

While for sitcom TV shows like "scrubs, how i met ur mother, 2.5 men, etc.", i just can't stand HD. Its so serious, takes away all the fun!

Like most everyone else, HD all the way. Movies with fast action or expansive scenes are watched in 1080 while 720 does duty on dramas, comedies and the like. TV series are watched mostly on my EEEPC or TP2, so standard def.Luckily, the TP2 plays normal avi rips without conversion and on its 800x480 screen, the rips look like they're in HD :).
