^^ dont expect serious gaming on XFX 8500GT 512MB.
What about CM460, even that isnt available?
 
i will try to get that on monday from some other dealer. He is not into that much gaming. Does all other components r ok?

i run my pc(4400+, 4 gb XMS2, 8600 gt 512 Mb DDR3 , Samsung 2033 , hitachi 160 gb, 1 DVD writer, 1 cd writer) on zeb 450 sata plus smps without any problem . Thats y i am not specifying any powerful psu.
 
Avoid seagate 7200.11 Drives, they are not good.
Go for seagate 7200.12 or Western Digital 250 gigger.
And why go for 8500gt ,,go for XFX 9500 GT.
 
How about the following config:

Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L - 2425

Core 2 Duo E7300 - 5750

Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard - 475

Microsoft Optical Mouse - 400

Corsair cx400W - 3300

Rest as you mentioned.

The 7300 is better than the 5200.

And your friend can always up the graphics later.

Comes out under 30k i guess.

Not very sure about the mobo though.

The idea of any cabinet is not really good.
Go for low end CM elite cabinet, but not just buy any other company. Get one fan installed on it atleast.
One thing don''t go for nvidia 8 series cards. Thats like a waste of money. Buy 9500 GT for the same money.
 
The 9 series is nothing but just rebranded 8 series...

Add 900 to the 8 series card and you get the corresponding model.

Eg:- 9500 Gt= 8600gt.

Get a 9 series if possible but if 8 is cheaper go for 8 then.
