IMO the original post was very one sided to begin with.
I thought it would be nice to debate on the merits and demerits of both types of downloading options.
But the topic starter is extremely biased towards his side of the story. So much so that he will go all out to counter anything that anyone mentions against HTTP. And he has done that repeatedly. That negates any kind of discussion emanating from other users.
The best part of this thread COULD have been the educational point of view for any person trying to figure out which path to take.
But this has become a slug-fest. With such a close minded attitude of the topic starter, I guess this thread was doomed from the moment it was conceived.
People have posted their views from every angle. There have been people for, against, neutral towards the topic. There have been people who like and use both options (including me). But what is the point of this discussion, If I may ask again?
The topic starter wanted to enlighten the people of TechEnclave (a forum no less than TechEnclave by the way) about the existence of Rapidshare and similar methods to download.
Did he, by any chance, think that people and members of TechEnclave wouldn't know about it? (LOL comes to mind at this point)
People will always take sides in any such discussion where two (or more) popular forms of public services are considered.
There is no point to this discussion anymore. Except for, maybe, laugh at each other whenever someone says something out of the ordinary.
Have fun!
