I am looking for a Wifi modem router. Presently using Binatone which i had bought from airtel. At the time of purchase airtel had taken away the modem. Now they are not providing it back and have asked me to buy my own.

Initially had planned to go with Netgear WGR614 N150 Router. Now that i dont have a modem, i have zeroed in on these 3 below models. Which one of these would serve me the best ?

As of now, it will be used to connect a Laptop, Tablet and a Phone. Main requirement is a rock solid connection with good range.

1) D-Link DSL-2730U - Flipkart: D-Link DSL-2730U Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router: Router

2) Belkin Basic Modem - Flipkart: Belkin Basic Modem (N150) Router: Router

3) D-Link DSL-2750U - Flipkart: D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router: Router

Most importantly how many walls exists in your home ?

My home is around 1900 sq feet. The router would be placed in my room which is in one corner of the house. But it would be accessed via tablet or phone from all over the home. Laptop though will always be in my room. Walls would be 2 or 3 depending on where i am.

Even 2750 isn't enough if there are 2-3 walls. I have a 2000 sqft. home and the signal strength goes down to 10-15% when i try to access the internet from my living room. The router is placed in the bedroom. There are 2 walls in between.

I'm using a repeater to increase my signal strength.

buy a dlink router as they provide better pricing without any compromise on the quality of the product.. they may not look as elegant as other linksys or belkin routers, but performance is at par with any of these brands. whether placing the router in one corner will provide adequate coverage, also depends a lot on the layout of the house.. its not that the router does not have a range that can cover an area of 1900 sq feet.. its the amount of obstructions that come in the way which will decide whether you get sufficient signal quality throughout the house or not.

I guess location of the router in terms of height can also help. I started receiving better signal when i placed it at high as possible in the room.
