Hi ,

I have a Brand New Wii Nintendo the baught from Canada for this I had also Baught a Step down Transformer 220 V to 110 V , 100MW , 60 Hz. The fuse of this blew out I replaced the fuse with a 5 Amp fuse & every time I pluged it on the transformer fuse would blow out . I was finally convinced after I saw fumes comming out of the transformer that the same has burnt out.

Subsequently I purchaced a new Transformer Step Down 220 V to 110 V but the Wii is not getting powered.

Can ay of you help ??????

Assuming the power rating of the new step down unit was the same or higher than the previous one, your console's power supply unit might have developed issues. The only way to check this may be to test the output of the step down unit using a multimeter. Do you have one at home? If not, approach your neighbourhood electronics repair store and ask him to test the voltage output across the output terminals and it should read 110V and thereabouts. If it displays this voltage, your transformer unit has no issues. The console could be dud.
