Graphic Cards Will Sapphire honour warranty without bill ?

Hi all,
A friend of mine is offering his sapphire radeon 6850.its 11 months old in warranty.However he couldnt locate the bill.

Will sapphire honour warranty w/o bill?
 
I just got a replacement for my HD 7750, that was faulty on arrival itself. The company didn't ask any details from me and replaced it with a working piece.

PS - I'm from Bombay.
 
Why would they ask for Details when they have serial number of the device. What difference would the bill make anyway?
