Will this RAM work with AMD?

Hi Guys,

Ordered a B650e MB and a Ryzen 9 7900x CPU and this RAM.

It says it's AMD EXPO compatible but in the specs it also says recommended use Intel B660/Z690. I checked on the MB list and it supports the same RAM with 38 CAS latency but this specific one is not on the list.

It should work. It's best to buy RAM which is on the motherboard's QVL (Qualified Vendor List), but the motherboard manufacturer cannot possibly test every available RAM model.

But why this particular RAM model, if I may ask? There are many other types with similar specs in the same price range.

Saw it recommended on some YT videos, but anyway returned it and asking for something from the QVL list.
Is ADATA a good brand?

ADATA XPG Lancer Blade kit is in the QVL list as well this G.Skill Ripjaws S5 RAM kit is also in the list. Choose which ever is cheaper and both kits are CL30 kits but I would prefer G.Skill. I am using G.Skill SniperX 16GB 3600Mhz kit since 6 years and no probs what so ever.

Thanks, wanted white RAM with ARGB. Found this which seems freely available and it's on their QVL list.

Adata is fine for memory, mostly shit for storage drives.

Thanks.

Found this in white. Not on the QVL list but seen it recommended in some build websites with Aorus MBs. Think it will do?

Generally G.Skill RAMs work in almost all systems.

Yes, they will..I use the same in my rig. Also, the Tridents are better binned. Better than adata. I have an Aorus X870 Elite

Am using Gskill Trident with MSI MPG B650. While its not part of QVL. It runs fine with no issues.

Thanks everyone. I come here once in 5 years or so for a new build help, and you guys always never fail to help and support. Appreciate it a lot.

I have been using G.Skill Rams since last 10 years for Intel to AMD systems and no errors or failures until now.
similar exp brother, idk for some reasons no matter what!
my corsair ram sticks would die/not work correctly, the reseating bs again n again or would have memory leak issues.
(then i read a bit how corsair rams were being handled, i gave up on them),
now with g.skills sticks no issues at all, so far, not to mention they mix up n works easily other rams too.

OK. Rather than pick out a RAM model for you, I'll tell you how I search for compatible RAMs once I've settled on the motherboard and CPU (others may have their own approach for the same purpose).

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's site --> the specific model --> support --> Compatibility --> memory. This is the link for your case https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-X870E-EDGE-TI-WIFI/support#mem

Click the button for your CPU series - 9000/8000/7000. That will be 9xxx for you. This will bring up a long list of all memory models they've tested on the motherboard with the selected CPU series.

It's a tedious process to go through the whole list, so you can use this shortcut: Visit your favourite online/offline shop and see what they have in your price and performance range - like the size, speed, latency, RGB, aesthetics, etc.

As an example, I've selected "G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (16GBX2) DDR5 6000MHz RAM" from Vedant Computers. (The Trident series is G.Skill's premium line). This model is CL30.

Look at the detailed specifications and copy the model number which is F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR. Paste this number into the search window at the top right over MSI's list of compatible RAMs and press ENTER. If it's on the list, it will show up in the search result. This model does.

That was just an example. You can use this process or your own variation of it for other RAM models.
