Will VPN service help me ??

I am looking for a VPN service to surf anonymously and download stuff.MY ISP shapes P2P and other downloads so i am not able to get good speeds even though i have 7Megs connection:mad: .People here are reporting that they are able to download through VPN at good speeds .How true is this ?

Please help me choosing a VPN .I am looking at unlimited bandwidth and no limitations on surfing or downloading :)
 
Dont know if it will work for you but try anomos (anonymous P2P client)

Also you can use Jondo and Tor (Vidalia)

These are all free services. My ISP doesnt throttle me but I still use it for anonymity :ashamed:

If you are ready to pay, you can try witopia. I have not tried it but during my stay in China, i saw that maximum people used the same to bypass the Govt censorship.

I sometimes used (when it worked) a small software, which was in the form of a small EXE file, I guess it was called Ultra Surf, try that, i always used to get a US IP when i connected using this software. It is free as well and worked great in accessing Youtube and even torrents worked fine. Just that i did not much care about torrents since the chinese ISP did not block them.

Hotspotshield as mentioned by ubergeek is also an option.
 
^^ Yes seedbox is an option as i had used it too. But later on the ISP got to know about my seedbox IP and throttled the traffic from that IP hence rendering seedboxes too useless. :( But that is an isolated case with me
 
Same issue with seedbox .

Any other options please .I am ready to pay for services provided i get a free trail to see the performance .
 
All p2p,torrent downloads are shaped ,people are posting high speeds through https downloads i have no clue as to how to use it as i get only http download links for hotfile .
 
I know rapidshare and others are not ,its essentially that i can download through https and not http .All http downloads are shaped.Looking for a solution fast :).

VPN is a separate protocol which mostly runs on a UDP transport(tcp is possible too but not recommended).default port 1194 but can be changed, the biggest advantage is there is end to end encryption. so traffic shapping on VPN is difficult to implement.

so you can try VPN. If your provider is stopping VPN too, then I guess its not worth staying with the provider and you should switch to something better.
 
NOt happening Rakshith they are not ready to provide trail but ready to give 30 day money back guarantee only.i dont want that .

Folks need help all i want to do is make every download of mine https .Only http downloads are shaped .I have accounts with hotfile and megaupload .I am sick and tired of trying all options.

Are usenet downloads https ??.Ayy one using usenet .I am trying to use it but have no clue how to setup SSL connection and start using it
 
Most usenet providers have ssl option,some even give it for free and pretty much every body is ready to give a free trial but the problem is content availability which is not as good as rapidshare especially when it comes to desi releases.Otherwise speed and bandwidth wise its pretty good.Check out newsgroupreviews.Also Giganews is having an offer where their providing usenet access+VPN access too,they seem to be aware of all the traffic shaping bullshit :p so you can try their vpn too and see if your megaupload/hotfile traffic is able to avoid the shaping.Good luck.
