I would suggest the following
1. Update your Motherboard BIOS.
2. Update the Disk controller drivers. Its a good Idea to update all the hardware drivers and firmwares.
3. Update the Sound Card driver.
4. Make sure all Windows updates are installed till date.
5. Update all the third party applications that are running in the background to the latest versions (For e.g. Antivirus, Spyware etc)
After doing the above let us know the symptoms.
Edit - Also update your display adapter driver and firmware to the latest version.
