WIN 7 (x64) preferable over WIN xp (x64) for gaming ?

Win 7 supports all the new and yet to come games way better than XP, the only games you would see a *real* performance difference would be of 6 months ago.

Also it supports DX11 which is the next-best-thing in gpu tech. so its better to stick with Win7, again you will get better support for ur games both on and off official channels.
