Windows 7 64bit on 2gb ram?

I have 6GB DDR3 RAM now, and my Windows 7 64bit uses 1.6GB by itself...

Before this I had 4GB, That time it used 1GB by itself...

From this I can say Windows adjusts itself according to your system...

Btw, how would Win7 perform on a PII 400MHz. system with 384MB RAM? It runs WinXP perfectly, not blazing fast but at above average speeds.

Of course the latest M$ offering is much more resource intensive. I doubt this would even boot.

BUT again, what sense does it make to install a 64bit OS on 2GB RAM?

Its like, you can do it, but it would not give you any benefits.

Its not blasphemy to install Win7 64bit on a system with 2GB RAM. While you still need to have the software to utilize the 64bit arch, there will be definite performance improvements in 64bit.

Besides, 32bit is getting a bit long in the tooth =/
