Accept it, Windows Vista is an improvement in overall computing over XP. It makes things more easier and accessible.

Once you have accepted that, viewing these screenshots will make you long for Windows 7 more and more :ohyeah:
I did not expect any major new revolutionary feature out of Vista, i just wanted it to make my daily computing easier and faster from XP. And that is what it did!

* Navigation between folders in different hiearchy is faster and easier

* Metadata editing of your media files is way much easier and faster

* Games are all properly, automatically arranged in a single place

* Many of the problems you face are automatically detected and solutions offered (debatable, but has helped me!)
These are just few which i experienced, and yes, this is not place for vista praising, but the point i want to put across is that a New OS does not have to be radically different from the previous one. It has to build on the previous one, has to improve upon the features of the previous one with additions, not overhaul!
And since Vista works beautifully for me, looking at these screenshots, i simply cannot wait to move onto Windows 7 !!
Check the source article for all the screenshots, but here are few which i really liked.

Check the left panel. Libraries is the My Documents equalvent in Windows 7

You want eye-candy and features and simplicity? Move to Leopard.

For everything else, there's always Windows :)

Leopard is not overrated (but over-hated, cause it's in fashion). This coming from someone who has used it for a long time. :P

There is no relation of this post with leopard. This is about Windows 7. So please stick to the topic.

Leopard might be good, might not, but if you want to discuss it, you can do so in a new topic for it.

Huh..Is there really another Windows build in the pipeline?

Have you not been reading the news on the net? This is the M3 release! There have been 2 releases prior to this, although they are in private beta testing.

all i can see are some vista screen shots

r u sure this is windows7

This is Vista's Aero UI, not Vista. Since these are early alpha builds, Vista's UI has been carried forward. UI might, might not change before the final release.

And yes, this is Windows 7.

Freedom has its limitations..Like you cant go and piss in you neighbour's lawn and shout abt freedom, same way no flamebaits in the name of freedom..

That was for everyone in general before the flaming starts..

Expected to be a little different.. but imo the minute changes done can also be brought by a 1 gigger Service Pack for Vista :P .. just my 2 cents.. dont flame on this too now :|

+100000000.

Vista has finally hit some sort of stability and usability after SP1, and I've been running Vista x64 for more than a year now, and I've been through all of it - Everything from USB drives to Game Controllers to stupid workarounds to make MS products work on it.

Just when they hit some kind of sanity with Vista, they decide to blow it all over again.

TBH, what's needed now in Windows 7 is just stability. Plain pure stability and compatibility. That's why Jobs has said that Snow Leopard is not going to have any feature updates, just stability fixes and better coding.

Any reasons for that? Because i have felt it to be quite the contrary. Things work perfectly for me, and even when there are a few crashes, they are from the application's side, similar to the occasional ones i had on XP.

And the few scenario's i have posted, which are the ones i come across more often than "Power User" stuff which you might be into, are much better on Vista than on XP.

Why not give some examples why XP is better than Vista?

What problems did you face with USB Drives on Vista? I have used various kinds of External HDs as well as Pen Drives, and really, you could face problems with such basic devices as well? As for Game Controllers, as long as you have proper drivers, nothing should affect your use i guess.

What kind of blowing up are we talking about here?
Had to reply because what you posted was not what my experience has been.

But can we keep the XP is better, Vista is Better, no Leopard is better discussion out of this and just talk about Win 7.
