Windows 7 Professional for 19$ for Students!!

The only thing to keep in mind is that the software is for educational and research purposes only. For Windows it shouldn't matter as it is probably going to be used in home pcs. But do not use the expression studio software for commercial purpose as it will violate the EULA.

Microsoft had introduced the DreamSpark program a while back but it does not include windows operating system.

I used the link on the first post, and then the link to the developing countries, and it listed as $18, I hope I dint do something wrong!

I downloaded the X64 and X86 and got image files and no SDC. The X64 is 3GB and x86 is 1.2GB which i guess is incomplete. I'll download that again.

But no SDC for sure. Or am i going wrong somewhere. :bleh:

Did you do a fresh install, or install over existing OS..?
Is the key we get an upgrade license? I am planning to format the entire hard drive and install Win 7 freshly. I want to make sure there won't be any problems.

Obviously I format Windows Partition and Do clean Install.
Do that now, It will work with no issues, even if you already activated once.

Get a 4gb Flash Drive.
Mount the ISO Image.
Format the Flash drive to NTFS, better of course.
Do an exact copy of image to usb flash drive.
boot via flash drive and install

You can use this command to copy image to usb

Installed my win7

I am on win 7 x64

writing from it thanks to srini

spent the day yesterday doing fresh install

how do i make a restore dvd after installing my os and apps

question is out of the thread but will make a new one if something comes up
 
^^ Windows 7 itself has an option to create a system image as well as a recovery disc. Just look under backup and restore in control panel.
