I've been using Nokia PC Suite for a couple of years now, and I have installed every new version as soon as it was made available.
Everything works as expected; yet I have noticed that in the Add/Remove Programs control panel (Windows XP) there are multiple instances of "Windows Driver Package - Nokia Modem" with different version numbers: 3.1, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 6.82.0.1, 6.86.01, 7.0.0.0, 7.00.01, 7.01.01.
Now, currently my OS Partition of the HDD is getting full & I desperately need some space on it. So my most important question : Why are these packages there? Why not just a single package with all the Nokia modem drivers & in a smaller size pack. Are these Most Integral part of proper function of the Nokia phone or the most essential prerequisites of proper connection of my Nokia phone with my PC( generally i connect through Data cable) Morever , if I don't use my Nokia phone as a modem & and I only use PCSuite to transfer files to/from the PC and backup the phone data, So Can I uninstall all of them & save a Lot of space on the system drive (those packages are currently taking up approx 2gb of my HD space)
* There is also yet another similr package called "Windows Driver Package - Nokia pccsmcfd" which is also occupying approx 700mb of HDD space on my C(system) drive!
....so all the experts out here who knows what & why are the packages for in the first place & can i safely uninstall them to regain the much required space on my system C drive, Plz plz reply & help ASAP!
** btw, my phone is N73Me & my OS is Win XP SP2!
@Mods, plz shift thread to appropriate area if required!
