Thanks for the update. The only thing that sucks in vista is search files :/. XP was 1000 times better.

Hopefully this update should make it better :|

waaaaaaatt??:S
Vista has the bestest search ever..period..

I installed it on XP then uninstalled it in few hours. Why? Because I dont liked it listing all my secrets in seconds. hehe

Slowed my machine to a crawl...granted it's XP with only half gig ram, but it's been pretty zippy till now. Had to get rid of Windows Defender AND this search thingy...

I still prefer locating the file i want by proper arrangement of files and folders. No Windows search 4 or google desktop for me

^Absolutely..

BuT, Windows search in vista is different, being integrated into the start menu, instead of going searching for ur program, u can jus type the first few alphabets for the program start it..Thats a nice feature i'd say..

If u go a bit deeper, vista uses search to sort a folder full 100 mp3, into virtual folders ..Say u select according to album, it will make temp folders JUST TO SHOW your mp3 as per album, the actual data structure of the drive wont be tampered with..
You can also do cut paste operations for these folders..Its cool i believe..
Way ahead of what it used to be..

I use AvaFind, to find stuff in my hdd's. Actually I ran out of indexing space in my brain after I got my new machine. So Avafind!!!

installed it today.. and am impressed.. indexing didnt take too long and is very comprehensive.

Good utility to have for searching for keywords through ppts, pdfs and other office documents.
