I am currently on Vista x64 but thinking of making a dual boot system. Somehow all my Windows XP CD/DVD do not seem to be bootable. So can some1 suggest how to create a XP bootable CD/DVD. I have Windows XP Pro CD/DVD which is non-bootable so how to copy the data onto a new DVD and then make it bootable as well.

I have tried copying boot files from a bootable XP CD(which has a few corrupt installation file, hence cannot use it to install) + Windows XP Pro installation file from another non bootable CD but this doesnt seem to work.

Help will be much appreciated.

copy all the files from the xp cd to the Hdd and with the help of nero make a bootable cd or dvd with the xp pro file in it. Thats how i did.

Hmm, too many things to read to create a bootable xp cd/dvd. But only these two things are needed. Once you do this just add all the xp files in the root of cd/dvd :) . This is ofcourse assuming ur genuine xp cd/dvd is damaged

Insert windows XP bootable CD-->> Open Nero-->> Select copy disk-->> select source in both as CD ROM-->> burn.

After some time..XP Cd will be ejected....inserted a blank CD.
Wait till nero burn the CD..Done !!!

Not right information. He wants to CREATE bootable xp cd. Your method will work only if the source cd is bootable

I haven't tried this method out, but see if it works...
Put Bootable (corrupt) WinXP CD in CD Drive
Open ISOBuster -> Select the BootImage -> Save
Open Nero -> Select Bootable CD option -> select the path for your saved boot image -> Put all WinXP files -> Write CD
Dunno if ISObuster saves the boot image or not, but I have a vague memory that this may be possible... Just check and see.
But the method described by Khimera will work for sure...

Edit: The boot image that I am specifying will be less than 1MB and not the whole 700MB WinXp image. I think ISOBuster shows two different images : one for boot and other for the CD contents

use nLite....the easiest of all !

Totally agree. It's the easiest-to-use. Just dump all of your CD/DVD's contents into a folder and just specify the folder. N-lite will do the rest.:hap2:
