Also I was wondering if I could maybe use VirtualBox and install XP in that (BTW I have a licensed copy ) within Win 7? Or are any probs / performance issues with that.

Hmm.. think I may as well get Home Premium as I dont really have any old software I am dependent on...

it will depend on - what application do you want to run,,for any generic application you have enough horsepower - getting more ram - 6gb will be good for you in long run

Hi pal why dont you try changing the page file from c drive to some other partition where space is plenty?
