i always wanted to mod my bijli. but i kept thinking i would just buy a new cabby, the cable management really sucks on this one. and i only have minimal things inside. :(

now even im thinking of putting the side panel under the knife. :D

great work done there. nice cutting!

i keep wondering, how do you fix the acrylic sheet on to the panel?

@all thanx.

make use of 3m tapes...they are pretty good for this work...i would be using rivets soon...

@cisco yup planning on a tribal dragon design. Lets c.

Yup virablbug the cable mgt suxx....u can make use of a slot at the bottom of 5.25" bays...i m routing all ma cables to lower peripherals from that slot. Check in the pic...even an ide cable is coming thru same.

You dont need a jigsaw or dremel to cut the panel. simple hacksaw blades would be fine and u will get a better finish aswell all it takes is time and patience.

The hacksaw blades can be used once u make a slit with a chisel or something sharp. Coverup the whole sidepanel with masking tape to prevent scratches etc.

Once cut u can file off the sharp edges with emery stone or a simple file with round and flat sides

Hey I cant see any holes in your side panel , that would be causing some heat issues right provided that your original Bijli had 2 80mm fan slots over there. I really love it, and it looks amazing but I need to know if I buy one whether I can make holes in the arclyic sheet and fix a fan .

Dont buy bijli nymore their build quality(thinner) n features(lacking 120mm rear exhaust slot) etc suxx..older models like in this are having okay material tagged it as an excellent vfm cabbie...If u get hold of one of these old models buy it.

Yea u can make holes in acrylic sheets too....but its better to get it done from some carpenter or misc. I got it done for 20 buxx the appropriate sized plexi cut and 2 x 80mm holes.

For the airflow front 120mm intake and 2 x 80mm side fans are gud for now. Will be replacing with better fans later on:)

@hawk Nopes no epoxy yet....m using tapes for now....hehe. will be drilling holes soon, cant find the drill:(

@hash nopes there aint ny holes in the side panel u can easily drill holes with a hand drill on the acrylic as well as the panels with appropriate drill bits.

@sabby check out the 5.25" bays the last one has a slot thru which u can route the cables powering ur gpu, hdd's, fans etc...would help lil.

K so here's what it would be....the tribal dragon along with my id:p....will take covering the area with yellow periphery on the first pic.

Wud be placing one ccfl tube near same for lighting up the dragon....

Now m thinking about the ugly cage grey color popping outta dragon for that m wondering an aluminium foil or so would cover up the background for the dragon and at the same time giving a silver-blue lighting effect with reflection from the foil and the ccfl light. Wt say guys??.

You might drill it, but I feel the double-sided tape makes it look neater.

Btw, the Tribal Dragon looks wicked cool :ohyeah:, looking forward to see it when it makes it's way onto your cabby!

Screwed the plexi on the panel.....used 4 for now....

For screwing i made smaller holes(than actual screw size) with hand drill and made bigger holes on panel so that screws can pass thru except the head part.

Now for easy screwing i used soldering iron and heated with the soldering wire melted on the iron, heated up the screw head n simply screwed with ease...this prevent cracking or any damage to the plexi.

The vinyl was wet pasted....so need some time drying in sunlight...my excitement lead to scrapping off the portion seen in pic;)
